Rally of Rockets has multiplayer!
After 2 weeks of work, you can now play together on Rally of Rockets. It’s still early days, and there are many improvements to come, including client side prediction, synchronized start lights, etc. However, you can at least race around the track.
On Wednesday night, several viewers and I jumped online for the first Rally of Rockets Race Night. We had a couple of races, attempted synchronized backflips, and a couple of viewers even discovered a way to pull off a double backflip. You can see highlights below in the first teaser trailer.
If you want to get involved in future race nights, head on over to my Twitch channel between 6 PM to 8 PM ET on a Wednesday, and download the latest build. You can also catch development live every morning 6 AM to 9 AM ET.
This weekend I’ve already added name tags above the vehicles, so we can see who is who next time. I’ve also been working on client side prediction. This will remove the jittering you see from other players in the video above, as well as improve the accuracy of collisions, and ability to hit targets precisely with rockets.
Between Monday and Wednesday, the focus will likely be on track improvements. The aim is to end up with a track that is more interesting from a visual and driving perspective. However, this is subject to change.
Don’t forget that for the next few days, you have the opportunity to get two games for free. Archer is available for 100% off to celebrate my birthday month. And, if you beat the final level with all 9 stars, you win a copy of Rally of Rockets.
